I have decided to change my name. The reasons behind this are that every artist goes through developments and changes throughout their musical careers and eventually comes to a point where they gaze into the artist that they currently are and do not see their ownself reflected back. For me this came the past 6 or 7 months. I started branching out musically in need of something greater for me to expand into. This being said, my new will now be Datahowler and my music has changed significantly. Hopefully, many can understand this and will follow with me. A new website has been launched along with new music.

Objektiv One’s “Neon Trash”

A couple nights ago I was up late messing around with some mash ups, and then all of the sudden I had this strange dance mix in a couple of hours. I decided to run with it, and do some artwork. So I drew up this goofy cover, and even decided to release a couple different options with the album so you can choose what cover matches your iPod or whatever it is people do now.

Today I dropped one new mash up. This was a joint I had lingering in the vaults but didn’t know what to do with. I decided it was a cool song though and gave it to my friend The Music Ninja. I also got to do some really fresh artwork for this release. I love just doing simple hand drawn type stuff right now. Here is what the ninja had to say if you missed out too:

DJ K.O. returns with another amazing release that I was fortunate enough to be a part of again. Through this whole series we have decided to keep the covers relatively simple and close to older jazz album covers of the 60s and 70s. Don’t sleep on this crew. Superman’s Ice Fortress Discovered!

Buried 900 feet below the surface of Mexico, scientist have discovered 38 foot long crystals that weigh almost 55 tons a piece. This was reported by Discovery Channel recently but what they failed to mention is how it looks like the ruins of Superman’s ice fortress. The crystals are actually made of gypsum which is a fancy term for “rock we smash up to make drywall”. So it is not made of ice like traditionally is thought of Superman’s Fortress Of Solitude, but Superman’s Fortress Of Solitude was actually made of an alien crystal that Superman’s father enclosed in his spaceship so it wasn’t technically ice either. The Mega Crystals of Naica Mine in Mexico could very well be ancient remnants of the Fortress Of Solitude when it existed on Pangaea. This is the theory I would like to bring to the academic table to be tested.

Jabee X Objektiv One “Valentines Day EP: The Remixes”

I remixed five songs for Oklahoma emcee Jabee. This project all started as me just really wanting to convey some sort of story about the idea of losing a love. Many people have gone through this phenomenon in life, and it particularly becomes heavier to deal with around Valentines Day. Hopefully this connects with some heartbroken, lonely people out there and they enjoy. None of this is meant to be emo, but rather honest about the human experience we all go through. Hopefully, it makes people laugh and nod in understanding. I used no samples on this whole project besides on the Many Gyrls remix. Anyways, check it out, its free. Enjoy it. Dedicated to all the broken hearted and all the girls I ever loved. Check the artwork I did too.

What began as a few remixes for emcee Jabee quickly escalated into a full on commentary into the loss of love and all matters of the heart circulating around Valentine’s Day. Presented in a tongue in cheek manor, but each remix was selected and inspired by the lyrical content of Jabee’s Valentines Day ReUp EP. Jesus 2000, Interstellar Savior

I don’t even know what to say about this. This is one of the strangest things I ever encountered. Visually its very cool, and it tells the story of Jesus through modern imagery without any words. LOL. My favorite part is the partied out Jesus at the end. Experience Jesus 2000, Interstellar Space Savior who also DJs, and can moonwalk on water.

DJ Sober of Decade Clothing recently approached me and asked me to do a flyer for an upcoming Top Notch event with 7l, DJA1, and himself. This was pretty cool because these guys are talented artists themselves and don’t really need my help at all, but of course I accepted. I wanted to make this flyer very regal and make it look like an old letter press invitation to a scholarly club or something. I really enjoyed the way this came out. I didn’t stray far from me usual style but I tried some new things that I really enjoyed. If you get a chance too stop by The Cavern on the 28th and check this event out! Should be dope!
